There are many other things that I have had the pleasure to work on over the years as a freelance editor that don’t fit into any of the other categories. Being a freelance editor in the Nashville, Tennessee market brings a lot of different challenges into the edit suite, both technical and creative and I love to dig into the challenges.

Camp Ozark marketing videos

For many years I’ve worked with Camp Ozark and several production companies to produce many of the marketing videos used for the year. While we produce several deliverables the highlight is this 20+ minute piece that highlights a little bit of everything this summer camp does each week. Each year a new video team captures hundreds of hours of video and thousands of clips that I edit into this epic highlight video. It’s an organizational mountain that we climb every year.

National Medal of Honor Heritage Center

I edited several pieces for the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The pinnacle of the content was this multi-screen installation telling the story of one Medal of Honor recipient’s bravery. This was a 3-screen installation playing in sync with the screens embedded within the installation. It was delivered in a single file over 5000 pixels wide so the video below is very widescreen. Exhibit elements covered the seams in the video below. All footage was custom produced for this exhibit. Museum content can be challenging but a lot of fun.

Youth2019 | Friday Night Recap & Lip Dub

When it comes to quick turnaround editing nothing beats conventions and sales meetings. That’s where we shoot video throughout the day and pull together videos for the attendees to view that evening. I’ve done a lot of those over the years and the are usually one viewing and done. This one was fun enough they put it online!

Chattanooga Choo Choo terminal renovation

This was an enjoyable piece to create in the style of a Ken Burns historical piece. Our elements were limited to a lot of work went into sourcing some historical photos for the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo train station. It was nice to create a longer, more flowing historical piece of content in our short attention span world.

United Methodist Worldwide Easter Choir

I feature this video here because this was a technical challenge unlike any other. Early in the pandemic when choirs couldn’t get together and sing the United Methodist Church produced one of the early virtual choirs. The put out a call for anyone and everyone to record themselves singing "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today" on their phones and send the video in. We collected hundreds of performances (many of questionable quality and sync) and created the piece below. They like it so much we did several of these over the next year.
